We had our  Old School Day , celebrated to commemorate our forefathers by dressing up in traditional attire in school  🏫   2. We had our Rag Day , which is an event involving students going all out dressed in rags and attempting to raise funds for and draw awareness to the less privileged.     3. We also played matches in all Departments in the Delta State Polytechnic Otefe Oghara for the Dean's Cu p (also known as the Faculty Cup , SUG Cup , or Rector's Cup ).   4. Cultural Day Events : This event involved a ll the t ribes com ing out in their c ultur al a ttire , performing activities such as the Cultural Dance Masquerade , among other activities.   Post by Ebis Okpeke It bands my heart whenever I try to decipher the modus behind the negligence and almost absolute shift of concentration from local production economy to foreign and internationally controlled economy by Nigerian Leaders and Africa at large. Nigeria can be prescribed as the most blessed black African country with so much human and natural resources,   from crude oil, water,   to cocoa,   to palm trees,   to gold, to agricultural products like yam, cassava , cocoyam  , plantains , fish farming,  to other economic trees like mahogany,   rubber trees etc that if given the needed attention can create not only jobs enough for unemployed Nigerian Youths but can accommodate Youths from other sister Nations and Countries in Africa. The main reason is attributable to its reliance on otherwise unreliable resources. It is understood by observers that, the Nigerian public service space is full of incompetence and at best, powered by retention memories.   In the early hours of Monday, January 23rd, it came to light that 2 members of the Toru-Angiama community had been murdered by Fulani herdsmen. The details of the activities that led to this are still unfolding. Last week, 2 members of the community were held against their will by these herdmen at gun point. Again, the sequence of events that led to that are unknown. How do nomadic herdmen roam into a community with their herd, and begin to terrorize the community? These Fulani nomads have to be restrained. If brute force, or even the government seems to be turning a blind eye to their attrocities, then the people need to collectively band together to hit them where it hurts - their main resource, cattle. The only reason they are venturing all the way to the south with their cattle is because there is a market for them. If the south can band together to gradually begin avoiding trading with them for their beef, it can be the catalyst to addressing this social ill of Fulani herdsm...

All too soon, another 365 days have passed.  2. It was an eventful year that tested us in diverse ways, but we have arrived at the start of a brand new one. I am persuaded that He who has brought us this far will faithfully help us throughout this new year. 3. I am aware the challenges we confronted in 2022 will not disappear overnight. But because God has kept us to see this day, I am filled with fresh hope about the possibilities of better days to come.  4. I recall that for several weeks across October and November in 2022, our State was inundated by flooding of unprecedented proportions.
