The Ijaw Peoples Association (IPA) of Great Britain and Ireland celebrated its 76th anniversary on Saturday 17th 2024 in London by having an Ijaw Day Celebration and Award night. The event also served as a fundraising opportunity for the proposed intent of acquiring a cultural center here in London for the awareness and promotion of the Ijaw culture as a whole. The target goal of the fundraising was £2 million, as several dignitaries were at hand to support the cause, celebrate the culture, and recognize the services of members of the community by the presentation of award plaques. It is the center where the members of the community are attended to for their medical and health concerns and needs. The above pics show the interior of the healthcare center. There is a need for expansion, as well as the acquisition of equipment to aid and assist the healthcare practitioners in their services to the members of the community.
